About Domain Names
The domain name you choose for your project usually needs a little thought before you build your web site. I the case of your brand it is fairly straight forward but when you are trying to come up with a new name or brand you need to consider some dimensions.
Everything you do regarding your business online should be always orientated with your existing or future customers in mind. So if you don’t already have a brand name then you need to consider looking at how easy the name is to remember (or picture) in their mind.
Making the name highly relevant is most important so for example, if you sell car parts, then the domain name johns wheels doesn’t help you to paint a picture in your future customers mind, that you sell an array of parts and not just wheels. Obvious, I know but it’s amazing how many people don’t think about this before they start off.
Another aspect is the status of the domain and how it looks. Don’t use hyphens or number in your domain name (or emails) to ensure it looks professional and choose a higher level domain name as is appropriate i.e. .com, .co.uk, .net and .IO.
Keyphrase Domain Names
Keyphrase domain names, are domain names that consist of a word or phrase that a lot of people use to search for specific services or products. These are usually highly specific and relevant as they are designed to target potential customers searching for your products or services i.e FourWheelDrive.com
